Louise Joan Johnson, 75, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at her residence, following a lengthy illness. She was born July 28, 1935, in Walker, Mo., to Roy Anthony True Sr. Joan was born and raised in Vernon County and spent most all of her life here. She worked for a number of years at the Nevada License Bureau and also did sewing at her home. She was a member of the MoKan Swingles and loved to square dance. Joan made square dance clothing for her friends and dance companions. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and that love was returned in full.

Survivors include one son, Brantley Johnson, Richards, Mo.; two daughters, Christy Johnson, Nevada, Mo., and Natalie Baker, Richards, Mo.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy A. True Jr., Richards, Mo.; and one sister, Katherine Westerhold, Nevada, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Craig Johnson; and one sister, Maxine Sarapulski.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family will receive friends 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, at the funeral home.
