Lester and Ruth Waring -- 50 years

Lester and Ruth Arlene Waring will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 4, 2011, with a reception at the Community Christian Church Family Life Center, 1919 S. Horton, Fort Scott, Kan., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lester Waring and Ruth Arlene Smith were married June 3, 1961, at the Hepler Christian Church, Hepler, Kan., with Mrs. Waring's cousin, Howard Armstrong, officiating.

The couples children and grandchildren, Brenda O'Keefe and Michaela Safford and Richard, Tracy, Bailey, Addison and Levi Waring, will host the reception. Friends and relatives are welcome. The couple requests the omission of gifts.
