Virginia M. Roberts, 78, Hume, Mo., went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 31, 2011, after an illness at home. Words inscribed in her Bible from Grellet were this about kindness: "I shall pass through this world but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show; or any good thing I can do, let me do it now. Let me not defer or regret it for I shall not pass this way again."

Virginia was born on Feb. 8, 1933, in Nevada, the second daughter of Raymond and Dora McGee.

Virginia was a graduate of the Nevada High School Class of 1951 and was a retired homemaker. First and foremost a Christian, she joined the Nevada First Baptist Church in 1949 and was a faithful servant of Christ for all her life

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, B.D. Roberts of the home; three children, Rita Medlock and her husband, Dan, Little Rock, Ark., Rosan Campbell and her husband, John, Glen Allen, Va., and Duane Roberts and his wife, Mary Lou, Moseley, Va.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Betty McCarthy.

Her hope for you is this: Live your life in joy with God given gifts of your time, language, and love for fellow man.

Home going services will be held at Ferry Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m., with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Pryor Creek Cemetery, Metz, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends on Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 7-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
