Lois Marie Stinnett, 82, Walker, Mo., passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at her home in Walker, following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 28, 1929, in Nevada, to Codie William Martin and Mildred Vera Souders Martin.
Lois grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1947. She worked for 18 years in Pittsburg, Kan., as a bookkeeper for Pittsburg Steel until her retirement. She later worked for Sears and First Finance Company in Nevada. Lois had lived in Walker for the past 20 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Lamke and Kassia Smith, both of Walker, Mo., and Janice Emery, Deerfield, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Douglas E. Smith, Walker, Mo., and Thomas F. Petty, Nevada.
A graveside service will be held at Moore Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 23, at 1:30 p.m., with Herb Bishop officiating. Friends may call now and until 1 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, at the funeral home.
