Edith June Armstrong, 76, Nevada, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 29, 1935, in Harrisonville, Mo., the daughter of Marvin and Marie Stowe. She was married to Phillip Davis who preceded her in death in 1964. Edith later married Arthur Armstrong and he preceded her in death in 2008.

Mrs. Armstrong grew up in Harrisonville, Mo. She came to Vernon County in 1975 and has resided here since. She made her living as a nurse's aide at various hospitals.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Davis and his wife, Brenda, El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Kenneth Davis, Compton Junction, Mo.; one daughter, Susan Lawton, Birney, Mo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one stepgrandchild; one sister, Helen Goft, Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, John Stowe and his wife, Dee, of Florida. She was preceded in death by three children, Thomas, Lori and Donald.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, Mo.

Friends may call now and until noon on Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, Oct. 3, between 7 and 8 p.m.
