Naomi Mae Wilkerson

Naomi Mae Wilkerson, 91, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada. She was born May 17, 1920, in Arthur, Mo., to Earl Wilson Sr. and Emma Marie Vogt Wilson. She married Fred Wilkerson and he preceded her in death.

Naomi was born in the house her grandfather had built in 1868 in Arthur. She grew up in Arthur and attended school in Rich Hill where she graduated from Rich Hill High School in 1938. She spent more than 50 years as cashier in the grocery business in Rich Hill.

Naomi was a lifetime member of the Arthur Baptist Church. She had lived the past 10 years in Nevada.

Survivors include one brother, James "Jim" Wilson, Nevada, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Louise Wilkerson; two brothers, Earl Wilson Jr. and William Wilson; and one sister, Frances Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Christian Church of Rich Hill, Mo. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill. The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
