Ruby Waunita Healthman, 50, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo. She was born Sept. 21, 1961, in Nevada, to Bert Allen Heathman and Ida Pauline Hogan Heathman.
Ruby was a graduate of Fort Scott, Kan., High School in 1979. She attended Fort Scott Community College and graduated in 1980 with an associate of science degree in psychology. She worked in the medical insurance field in Fort Scott and Kansas City. Ruby worked for a time for Wilkinson Pharmacy in Nevada and was currently working for Provider Plus, Lenexa, Kan. Her memberships include St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Fort Scott VFW.
Survivors include one sister, Rhonda Pottorff; two brothers, Allen Heathman and Greg Heathman, all of Nevada; her children, Katie Cagle, Fort Scott, Kan., Tyler Cagle, Nevada, Nickolas Cagle, of the home, and Brittaney Bailey, Nevada; two grandchildren, Ethen and Brilynn; one niece, Angela Witt and her husband, Adam, Wisconsin; two aunts, Elaine Harth and her husband, Wayne, Richards, Mo., and Alice James and her husband, David, Girard, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dusty Drake officiating. Family and friends may call now and until 1 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
