For a short time they resided in Darien, Wis., near Joe's family, but returned to Schell City in the fall of 1964. For many years Louise was a homemaker, enjoyed painting, making quilts, gardening, canning, and helping Joe in his job as caretaker of Schell City's Green Lawn Cemetery.
