Clarence L. "Rowdy" Toland passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada. He was born on April 29, 1949, in Joplin, Mo., to Loren and Josephine Toland.

Rowdy was raised in the Joplin, Mo., area and had worked as a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, and as a junker for most of his life. He had lived in Vernon County since 1999. Rowdy was raised a Baptist and loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Tammy Cousins, of the home; one son, James E. Dubois, Lakeside, Mo.; one daughter, Christina Lopez and son-in-law, Freddy Diaz, of the home; grandchildren, Hailie, Byron, Alia, Santi, Maya and Yesenia; three nephews, Ira Toland, Leo Jake Simmon, and Dwayne Shuey; and one niece, Donna Dicky. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home. Following the service, a celebration of his life will be held at the Hobo Junction Farm with food and music. All family and friends whose lives he touched are welcome.
