Thomas Winton Bewley passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at St Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Tom was born March 14, 1928, in Oklahoma City, the son of Winton and Jane C. Bewley who preceded him in death, as did his favorite brother-in-law, Joe Kraft.

He leaves his sister, Dorothy Kraft, Springdale, Ark.; his nephews and nieces, Clint Kraft and his wife, Janet, Sally Kraft Sandy and her husband, Frank, and Paula Kraft Neal; along with nine grandnieces and nephews.

After graduating from Nevada High School, Tom enlisted in the Army and served in the 1st Cavalry Brigade. He then attended the University of Arkansas before being employed at Henry Kraft Mercantile Co. in Nevada. He went on to work for 14 years at Key Industries until retirement. Tom was vitally interested in the care of stray animals and adopted many during his lifetime.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 3, at the All Saints Episcopal Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Ted Estes officiating.
