Buddy Cliff Roufs, 58, a resident of rural Mapleton, Kan., died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at his home. He was born July 15, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Clifford Antone Roufs and Margaret Ballard Roufs. He married Pamela Shepherd in March of 2009, in Miami, Okla. Buddy had worked for Mid-Continental Restoration for 32 years. In addition, he enjoyed mechanic work, doing restoration work and collecting automotive memorabilia. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife, Pam, of the home; a daughter, Jill Roufs, Marshall, Mo.; a stepson, Derek Buckner and wife, Dawn, Nevada; two grandchildren, Jaylen and Jayda; and four stepgrandchildren, Amber, Kristin, Derek Jr., and Gabe. Also surviving are his mother, Margaret White, Hutchinson, Kan.; a sister, Antoinette Roufs, Hutchinson, Kan.; a nephew Nick White, of Hutchinson; and a niece, Antoinette Omundson, Wichita, Kan. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Roufs; his stepfather, by whom he was raised, Bob White; and an infant sister.

The Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kan.
