George Andrew Miller, 68, the son of James A. and Elsie M. Miller was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Omaha, Neb., and passed from this life on Dec. 2, 2012, in Olathe, Kan. George spent most of his young life in Nebraska then, along with his family, moved to Missouri settling in the Schell City area. He was a 1963 graduate of Schell City High School. Soon afterward he served our country in the United States Army.

After his military duty, George began employment with Asplundh as a tree trimmer, working there for many years until his retirement. After that he relocated to Yankton, S.D., where he was living until just prior to his death when he returned to Missouri to be near his daughter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life, when time permitted.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Uhlman; sons, James, Greg, Byron, and George; brother, Jim; sisters, Ida and Helen; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and David; and his daughter, Jessica, who was just 18 months of age when she passed away.

Memorial services with military honors for George Andrew Miller were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City, Mo., with the Rev. Travis Cole officiating.

Arrangements for Mr. Miller were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City.
