Winford Bogart, 84, of Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Christian Health Care in Nevada, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 7, 1928, in Sheldon, Mo., to Harry A. Bogart and Opal Helen Holland Bogart. He married Annie Maudie Houdeshell on June 19, 1946, in Fort Scott, Kan., and she survives of the home.

Mr. Bogart was raised in the Sheldon area and attended the Avola School. He farmed and was a carpenter and retired from Snyder Bridge Company in Joplin in 1991. He was a member and former pastor of the Church of God Holiness in Sheldon. Winford enjoyed fishing, hunting, and making bird houses.

In addition to his wife, Annie, he is survived by seven sons, Ralph Bogart and his wife, Sally, Sheldon, Charlie Bogart, Sheldon, Paul Bogart and his wife, Suzanne, Sheldon, David Bogart and wife, Cheryl, Sheldon, Robert Bogart and his wife, Volantie, Belton, Mo., Steve Bogart and his wife, Linda, Archie, Mo., and Terry Bogart and his wife, Melanie, Nevada; five daughters, Wilma Jean Lacy, Sheldon, Glenda Fleener and her husband, Leroy, Waynesville, Mo., Kay Hart and her husband, David, Sheldon, Patty Stupca and her husband, Jack, Gilbert, Minn., and Nancy Wright, Sheldon; 31 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Ruth; one grandson, Shon Bogart; and one sister, Mary Bogart.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 4-6 p.m., today, March 5, at the funeral home.
