Florence Evelyn Flynn, 84, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Bates County, Mo., to Lewis C. Covington and Minnie L. Cowan Covington. She married John J. "Johnny" Flynn on Nov. 8, 1946, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2006.

Florence was raised in the Walker, Mo., area and graduated from Walker High School in 1946. She lived most all of her adult life in Nevada. Florence worked for Nelly Don, later known as Junior House, until her retirement after 35 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, John J. Flynn and his wife, Charlene, Nevada, and James M. Flynn, Sallisaw, Okla.; three daughters, Judy Rice and her husband, Bob, Lamar, Mo., Joyce Stephens and her husband, Greg, Nevada, and Janet Cullison and her husband, Chip, Peculiar, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Lavonne Messick, Springfield, Mo., and Wilma Miller, Peculiar, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Jerial, Clark, and Orville Covington; and three sisters, Aretha Covington, Laverna McHenry, and Ruth O'Neil.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Hubert Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home. The family receives friends from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, March 30, prior to the service.
