Charles William Maus

Charles William Maus, 57, the son of Claude David and Mary Ellen (Davis) Maus was born March 22, 1956, in Nevada, Mo., and passed from this life Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his home in Rockville, Mo.

Charlie lived his life in both Schell City and Sugar Creek, Mo., and was one of the graduates of the Schell City class of 1974. In June of 1976, Charlie was united in marriage to Raejean Thomas and to their union three children were born. During a later relationship, Charlie had another daughter. Following that, he was married for a time to Frankie Davis. He then spent 17 years with Dana Kellogg until her death in 2009. Aside from logging with his brother, David, Charlie always worked heavy construction -- mostly as a truck driver. He worked for several companies in the greater Kansas City area -- spending nearly 20 years with Kidwell Construction. In his spare time, Charlie enjoyed both hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his four children, Christy Goodman and husband, Jared, of Schell City, Jeremy Maus and Brandi, also of Schell City, Becky Hill and husband, Nick, of Appleton City, Mo., and Lacey Maus of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Mary Ellen Maus of Nevada; one brother, David Maus and his wife, Beverly, of Walker, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Cayla, Logan, Bryce, and Jackson Goodman, Raeleigh, Raeah, and Renner Hill, Gabby Burch, and Ethan and Kohl Maus; cousins, nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, John and Danny; and his first wife, Raejean.

Memorial services for Charles William Maus were held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, at the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, Schell City, with the Rev. Doug Reynolds officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family.
