Caryl Ann Applegate

Caryl Applegate, 71, Independence, Mo., passed away July 4, 2013, at her home. Caryl was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Nevada, Mo., to Cecil and Jane Schwenck, and both preceded her in death. Caryl worked for The Salvajor Company for more than 30 years, as the director of finance. Her spare time was lovingly spent with family.

Caryl is survived by her son, Marty Applegate; daughter, Melissa Applegate-Gift; son-in-law, Ronald Gift; grandchildren, Terry Gift, Matthew Gift, Amber Johnston, Matt Johnston; and great-grandchildren, Connor Gift, Nevaeh Hoock, and Quentin Hoock.

A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens in Independence, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be given to any hospice organization.
