Douglas Scott Lukenbill, 50, Nevada, died suddenly on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013. He was born Aug. 1, 1963, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Roger Allan Lukenbill Sr. and Eunice May Adkins Lukenbill.

Doug was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1981. He was a self-employed carpenter and also operated Fun-In-The-Sun Pools for the past 10 years. Doug was known as "the life of the party" to his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; six children, Ashley, Cheyenne, Garrett, Gabrielle, Crystal, and Skyler; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Janet DeSpain, Christina Lukenbill, Brenda Lukenbill, and Lorinda Lukenbill, all of Nevada; two brothers, Edward Lukenbill and his wife, Marcella, and Shawn Lukenbill, all of Nevada; his mother, Eunice Lukenbill, Nevada; numerous nieces, nephews, and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Roger A. Lukenbill Jr.; and one son, Cody.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Travis Cole officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
