Jerome "Jerry" Edward Stonebraker

Jerome "Jerry" Edward Stonebraker, 61, Olathe, Kan., passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Olathe, Kan. Jerry was born Oct. 5, 1951, to Edward T. Stonebraker and Elizabeth M. Sherman in St. Charles, Mo.

Jerry grew up in St. Peters, St. Charles, and near St. Louis. In 1969, he moved to Nevada from the Rolla, Mo., area and graduated from Nevada High School in 1970. After graduation Jerry joined the United States Air Force where he served for two years. He then worked as an auto body mechanic most of his life. He made Olathe his home for more than 30 years.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Primula Stonebaker and Xavier Stonebraker, both of Belton, Mo.; his mother, Elizabeth Stonebraker, Nevada; five brothers, Frederick Stonebraker, Denver, Colo., Bill Stonebraker, Sheldon, John Stonebraker and Tim Stonebraker, Nevada, and Edward Stonebraker Jr., Harlingen, Texas; two sisters, Laura Schuster, Nevada, and Louise Ann Routledge, Brookfield, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Edward; one son, Matthew J. Stonebraker; and one brother, Peter C. Stonebraker.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Matthew Benjamin officiating.
