Pearl Alberta West, 89, Nevada, Mo., passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. Pearl, the oldest of 10 children, was born April 26, 1924, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Albert A. Watson and Thelma T. Ritchey Watson. She was united in marriage to John M. West, Nov. 18, 1988, in Bellwood, Neb., and he survives of the home.

Pearl, along with her family, moved to Vernon County at a young age where she attended a one-room school until the eighth grade. Pearl was a homemaker, but also worked outside the home at many different jobs including Nellie Don Inc. for 19 years, the Nevada County Club, and 3M Company for 13 1/2 years until her retirement. Pearl was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada and was a volunteer for America Rehabilitation Ministries (ARM) in Joplin, Mo.

Survivors include her husband, John; four daughters, Cathy Brunk, Overland Park, Kan., Brenda Hughes, Erie, Kan., Debra Allen and husband, Randy, Houston, Ala., and Sandra McGatha and husband, David, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; one son, Robert Kegerries, Nevada; one stepdaughter, Barbara Davidson and husband, Bill, Florida; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews; three sisters, Daisy Groves, LaCygne, Kan., Dorthy Sisson, Richmond, Mo., and Rosemary Ideker and husband, Buryl, Clinton, Mo.; and two brothers, Bill Watson and wife, Sylvia, Warsaw, Ind., and Frank Watson, Rockville, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia Glazner; two brothers, Weslie Watson and Roy Lee Watson; and two sisters, Betty Craig and Neva Wardin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Ferry Funeral Home. Friends may call Tuesday and until the hour of service on Wednesday.
