Eula Marie McReynolds

Eula Marie McReynolds, 94, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Christian Healthcare in Nevada. She was born on Sept. 3, 1919, in Vernon County, Mo., to B.R. Compton and Tillie W.A. (Monthei) Compton. She and Roy Bert McReynolds were married on May 22, 1948, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Eula graduated from Nevada High School in 1938. She later served in the Women's Army Air Corps at various Air Force Bases during World War II. Eula and Roy lived in Atchison, Kan., from 1958-1967. They then lived in Kansas City from 1967-1986, where she worked for the IRS as a file clerk until her retirement. Following retirement, she and Roy moved to Nevada in 1986, where they have since lived. Eula was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Bert McReynolds; one son, Steven McReynolds and his wife, Nancy, Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Alan McReynolds and his wife, Stephanie, Syracuse, N.Y., and Maggie McReynolds and Jack McReynolds, both of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Helen Fritts, Carrollton, Texas, and Vanessa Kaup, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Gary; and two brothers, Carl and John Compton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. David Rorabaugh officiating. A private committal will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
