Janice Delight Ware
Janice Delight Ware, 67, Deming, N.M., passed away Jan. 19, 2014, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center, in Las Cruces. Janice was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan., to Daniel Orville Rapp and Vivian A. Piersee.
Janice, along with her family, moved to Nevada, Mo., after the flood of 1951 washed away their home. She attended school in Nevada. Janice married John Heim and together they had four children. She was a homemaker and later worked at the Nevada State Hospital in the laundry department for several years. Janice was then united in marriage to Earl Frye and they were married for more than 20 years before his passing.
Later, Janice met and married Layton (Lew) Ware. They enjoyed traveling and seeing the country from their tri-motorcycle. While traveling, they fell in love with New Mexico and decided to make it their home. Lew preceded her in death in 2013. Janice was a charter member of the Nevada Eagles Lodge, and she and Lew were both local VFW and American Legion members.
Survivors include her children, Yvonne A. Graham, El Dorado Springs, Mo., Daniel P. Heim and Melissa, Nevada, and Katherine J. Heim, Sunrise Beach, Mo.; two sisters, Rosella Austin and Henry, Nevada, and Linda Hartline and Jack, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and of special mention is Johnny Shepard, the son of Tricia whom Janice raised as her own. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tricia; one grandson, Joshua; her husband, Earl Frye; her husband, Lew Ware; and one brother, Ronald Rapp.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Mo. Family will receive friends Friday, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Friends may call after 3 p.m., Thursday, and until the hour of service.
