Linda Louise Rogers, 66, of Nevada, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 12, 1947, in St. Paul, Minn., to Edward Robert and Adeline Freida (Paulus) Thury.

She grew up in the St. Paul and St. Park, Minn., areas and graduated from high school there. She was also a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Engineering. On Sept. 8, 1979, she was united in marriage to William Allen Rogers in Columbia, Mo. Throughout her working years she was employed with Control Data Corp. in Minneapolis; 3M Company in Columbia, Mo.; and while living in the Phoenix, Ariz., area worked for the Rogers Corp., the Courtalds Inc., and later taught school there.

Linda moved back to Missouri in 1992, where she continued to teach school in Sheldon, Mo., until she retired. For the last six years she has tutored math and science at Cottey College in Nevada. She was a lifelong member of the American Watercolor Association. Linda has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nevada since February 2006.

Survivors include her husband, Billy, of the home; two sisters, Cindy Smith and Kevin, Hastings, Minn., and Gayle O'Connor, New Ulm, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Christina Bunton and Daniel Thury, St. Paul, Minn., and James Alan Rogers and Matthew Lane Rogers, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; and her father-in-law, Bill Rogers, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Steven Thury.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Nevada, with the Rev. Christopher Deines officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m., Sunday, at Ferry Funeral Home.
