Janet Lee (Pullin) Douglas

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

Janet Lee (Pullin) Douglas, 54, was claimed in sleep by our heavenly father on April 7, 2014, after an extended illness. She spent her final weeks surrounded by the love of her family and children, all of whose lives she had touched in memorable ways.

Janet was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Sept. 26, 1959, but spent the majority of her childhood playing on the hills of San Francisco, Calif. At the age of 14, her roots etched a life of their own in the rustic setting of Nevada, Mo. All who knew Janet remember her as spontaneous and full of life. She loved to take her children on outdoor adventures: camping, fishing, and canoeing. This lady did everything on a grand scale and with flair. At Easter, she was known to assemble colossal towers of delectable sweets and treats for each of her precious grandchildren.

She was a musical woman with a poet's soul. At a very young age, she learned to play guitar and relished in entertaining her friends and family through song. She later taught herself to play the mandolin and keyboard. She is now in heaven harmonizing with the angels.

Janet was survived by her husband, Grant Douglas, of 15 years; her ex-husband and dearest friend, Steve Saathoff; her four children, Robin Pettibon, Mandi Ketter, Lacey Strawder, and Joseph Price; her grandchildren, Scott, Lauren, and Marshall Pettibon, Malori and Aiden Price, Colin and Kendyl Ketter, Fallyn and Jayden Strawder, Anthony Baker, and Parker and Emerson Price; her parents, Dean and Clela Pullin; her siblings, Leslie German, Jenny Stoddard, and Michael Pullin; many neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and, most importantly, her two beloved English Springer Spaniels, Pollo and Naynay.

The celebration of Janet's life will be held at the First Baptist Church, at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 12, in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Green Room, the First Baptist Church Youth Ministry: 301 E. Highland Ave., Nevada.
