Reunion planned for last Deerfield graduates
Fifty years ago, the final class graduated from the school in Deerfield. The graduates went off in different directions to build their lives, but the memories remain.
We remember the wooden desks with ink wells, the large round wooden table where we did our lessons. We played on the merry-go-round, the slide, the swings in the back, and games in the schoolyard. Who can forget the outdoor privy?
All of these things are part of our heritage, our collective memory. We walked the same grounds, studied the same lessons, sat in the same two classrooms.
We will hold a Deerfield School Reunion May 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. We hope that if you were a student, a parent or a teacher at Deerfield, you will join us in this event. Please help us to spread the word.
Come and share the memories, re-connect with old friends, and have a good time!
