She was born June 8, 1976, to Kenneth Leon Jr. and Linda Paulette (Sewell) Chesnut and was the light of their lives. Leonette attended school in Nevada graduating with the Class of 1994. She went on to also receive an associate's degree in general studies. For many years she worked as a teacher's aide for the State School and also for a time worked in the family business, but her heart was always with the children of the school. She loved scrapbooking, collecting "Goofy" memorabilia, and had been an avid bowler in the past. Her most loved pastime was riding motorcycles.

A memorial service for Leonette Christine Hammontree is scheduled at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 22, at the Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
