Donaldeen Mae Rei, 86, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Medicalodge of Fort Scott. She was born May 10, 1928, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Donald V. Kibble and Beulah Ramsey Kibble. She married Joseph Rei on June 2, 1946, at Mapleton, Kan. He preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2009.

Donnie had helped her husband with his trucking business. She had also helped create the Senior Citizens Center in Blue Mound. Later, she worked in the housekeeping department of Mercy Hospital. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church where she faithfully served as an elder and as a pastor. She was a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary where she helped with pastoral care. She also volunteered for Care to Share. Donnie enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Joe Rei, Kansas City, Mo., and a daughter, Joy Wiltse, Fort Scott, Kan.; three grandchildren, Amy Tourtillott, Fort Scott, Kan., Jeremy Wiltse, Nevada, Mo., and Charles Rei, of Germany; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jacob Tourtillott and Lucas and Ben Rei. Also surviving is a brother, Bob Kibble, Fort Scott; three nephews, Kevin Thrope, Bryan Thorpe and Steve Kibble; and a niece, Kim Carver. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Thorpe; a son-in-law, Jon Wiltse; and a nephew, Alan Kibble.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 2, at the Community of Christ Church, 17 and Eddy St., in Ft. Scott. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Community of Christ Camp Scholarship or to Care to Share and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
