Gary Lynn Frazier, 61, rural El Dorado Springs, Mo., in Vernon County, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Gary was born May 9, 1953, in Metropolis, Ill., to Robert Eugene Frazier and Winfred May (Parsons) Frazier. He was married on Nov. 29, 1985, to Cynthia Louise Steely, in Dederick, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Gary grew up in a military family and lived various places in the United States growing up. He came to Vernon County in the early 80s with his family. He then went to Arizona for a time before returning to Vernon County where he has continued to live. Gary worked for O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar and Wal-Mart in Nevada for a number of years, until his retirement due to disability in 2009. He loved fishing and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Cynthia, he is survived by four sons, Todd Frazier, and Donny Frazier, both of the home, Dustin Frazier, Nevada, Christopher Frazier and his wife, Denise, Walker, Mo.; four grandchildren, John, Levi, Lukas, and Mackenzie; one brother, Steve Frazier, El Dorado Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Danny Ray Frazier; two sisters, Valerie Sue Kustard and Sara Frazier; and one nephew, Buddy Frazier.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 9, at Ferry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday from 6-7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
