Phil E. Hymer, 59, Nevada, Mo., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was born May 31, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo., to Robert Walter Hymer and Delphia (Hesser) Hymer. He married Mary Louise Scrogham on June 20, 1975, in Foster, MO, and she survives of the home.

Phil attended school in El Dorado Springs, Mo., and graduated from Metz High School in 1973. He was a mechanic for various farm implement businesses for many years. Phil has worked for Ash Grove Aggregates for the past 25 years and received his 25 Year Certificate of Recognition in March 2014.

Phil loved his work, being with his grandchildren and loved his wife and family very much. He was a member of the Rinehart Christian Church in Richards.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Mary, include two daughters, Misti Raney and her husband, T.J., Nevada, and Jennifer Wheatley and her husband, Joel, Lee's Summit, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tretin Raney, Taylor Wheatley, Madyson Wheatley, Ryan Raney, Daeten Raney, and Adalyn Raney; two brothers, David Hymer, Nevada, and Mike Hymer and his wife, Jo, Metz, Mo.; one sister, Debbi Beerman and her husband, Dave, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter, Jenna Lyn Raney.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 26, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Ricky Walles officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Foster, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Rinehart Christian Church Building Fund in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
