Elmer C. Selim Jr., 76, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at his home in Springfield, Mo., surrounded by his family.

Born April 10, 1938, to Elmer C. and Dorothy M. Selim of Moundville, Mo., Elmer was a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, former senior partner in Whitlock, Selim & Keehn CPA Firm, trusted business advisor, and long-standing member of the Springfield business community. Elmer was active in his faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Springfield area, volunteering service for more than 40 years. An avid reader, some of his favorite pastimes were working in his yard, exercising, and walking on beaches with his wife.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Neil Selim.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Dawn A. Selim; children, David Selim, Nancy Selim, and Daniel Selim; stepchildren, Jeffrey Grandon, James Grandon, Julia Grandon, and Matthew Grandon; and 21 grandchildren.

Viewing was held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service was held on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 4450 S. FR 141 (Cox Road). Burial followed at 3 p.m. in Welborn Cemetery in Moundville, Mo.
