Everett E. Woody, 78, lost his courageous battle with cancer and entered his eternal heavenly home on Oct. 30, 2014, at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital.

Everett was the youngest son of Earl and Hazel (Green) Woody, born Nov. 21, 1935, in El Dorado Springs, Mo.

He attended school in El Dorado Springs and graduated with the class of 1953. Woody was a long time member of the First Baptist Church

Woody was a very private individual, but fun loving as well. Whenever Woody was around you always had a good time.

Everett and Ruth Taylor were married on June 27, 1954, and had just celebrated 60 years of marriage. This union was blessed with two wonderful children, Janet "Earlene" and Randal "Nick."

Woody began his life-long career as an automobile dealer at age 16. His business was built on the foundation of honesty, integrity, and a work ethic second to none. He semi-retired several years ago, but continued to help Nick with Woody Motors as long as his health permitted.

A few years ago Woody Motors was honored by the local Chamber of Commerce as having been in business for more than 50 years. Woody Motors has also been honored by numerous automobile auctions as a member of their annual Million Dollar Club, receiving two such awards in one year.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, of the home; his daughter, Janet "Earlene" Hull and her husband, Jim, of Frisco, Texas; his son, Randal "Nick" and his wife, Robin, of rural Stockton, Mo. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Woody and Wyatt Everett Woody; one stepgrandson, Stephen Hull; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Bella Kate Hull. Also surviving are his brother, Denzil and his wife, Vera, of Atlanta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Donna Woody; nieces and nephews; and a world of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Woody; two brothers, Ralph and Floyd; his in-laws, L. D. and Ethel Taylor; and a sister-in-law, Lee Moore.

Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. Brent Bland, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 2, at Sheldon Funeral Home, in El Dorado Springs, Mo. Interment will be in Clintonville Cemetery, El Dorado Springs, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the High Hopes Cancer Support Group, of El Dorado Springs, in care of Sheldon funeral home.
