Patsy Ann Ewing

Patsy Ann Ewing, 79, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Nevada Nursing and Rehab, after a long illness. Patsy was born on Feb. 15, 1935, in Jerico Springs, Mo., to Harry S. and Mildred J. (Scantlin) Wallace. She married Clarence E. Ewing in July 1976, at Sheldon, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Patsy was a long-time resident of Sheldon, Mo., where she graduated from high school in the Class of 1953. She was a member of the Sheldon Christian Church. She taught at Head Start for a few years and retired from the Nevada Habilitation Center after 21 years. She was a member of the Sheldon Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past-President of the Nevada Eagles. Patsy loved her family, friends and animals. She had a passion for feeding the birds and was known for her good cooking and joke telling.

Survivors include four daughters, Rhonda Rose and her husband, Steve, Lamar, Mo., Terri Chadd, Nevada, Deana Castlebury and her husband, Joe, Milo, Mo., and Yvonne Ewing, Pittsburg, Kan.; four sons, Wayne Ewing and his wife, Mary, Wyoming, Ill., George Ewing and his wife, Kathleen, state of Illinois, Roy Ewing, Pittsburg, Kan., and Everett Ewing and his wife, Cheryl, state of Illinois; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one older brother, Junior Wallace, Richmond, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Dean Wallace; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and son-in-law, Gary Chadd.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Friends may call now until the hour of service at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m., prior to the service.
