Shirley Jean Earp

Shirley Jean Earp, 44, Lamar, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at her home in Lamar, following a lengthy illness. Shirley was born Dec. 11, 1970, in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of James Gustaford and Dolly Rosella (Toepfer) Buckner. She was united in marriage to John Earp and he survives in Lamar.

Shirley was raised in Nevada where she attended school graduating with the Nevada High School Class of 1989. She worked for Wal-Mart in Nevada and Webb City for a number of years before beginning employment at the Nevada Habilitation Center as a Patient Care Attendant. Shirley enjoyed traveling throughout the Midwest with Bob in his truck, something she did for as long as she was able. She has lived in Lamar for the past three years and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lamar.

Survivors include her fiancé, Bob Ives of Lamar; and one brother, Jim Buckner and Brenda of Carthage, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ernie Toepfer in 2005.

Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 18, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Pastor Jack Slade officiating. The family will greet those in attendance following the service. Cremation to follow.
