The Nevada Lady Tigers softball team bulldozed the Lamar Lady Tigers, 17-3 Tuesday night in Lamar.

The victory improves Nevada to 6-4 overall.

Carsten Warner picked up the victory, working five innings.

After the Joplin tournament last weekend, Nevada head coach Tammy Holcomb said her pitchers need to work ahead in the count more consistently.

"We talked after the weekend about trying to get ahead with batters and not going full count with so many of them," she said during her postgame radio interview Monday night in El Dorado.

Since the talk, both Kylie Boyd and Warner have picked up victories.

Holcomb said she's pleased with the makeup of her roster.

"We have several seniors that are leading us, a group of sophomores that work very hard, and then we have a freshman class that's going to come in and help us tremendously," she said.
