Lila Mae Pritchett

Lila Mae Pritchett, 90, Nevada, Mo., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Freeman West Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Lila was born May 21, 1925, in Carthage, Mo., to Harold Homer and Lois Josephine (Kiger) Hornback. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert Lecil Pritchett and he preceded her in death in 1988.

Lila was raised in Carthage and graduated from Carthage High School Class of 1943. For a number of years she worked for Key Work Clothes and Nelly Don, in Nevada. She then worked at the Nevada State Hospital for 18 years, until her retirement. Lila then continued working for an additional 18 years at Wal-Mart as a greeter, until she again retired at the age of 84. Lila was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly Church, in Nevada.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Allard and her husband, Doug, Nevada; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Thurman, Joplin, Mo.; five grandchildren, Trey Todd, Nevada, Shiloh Boyer and her husband, Chris, Reno, Nev., Stuart Vailes, Joplin, Mo., Virgil Soney, California, and Bobby Vailes, Arizona; one great-granddaughter, Mesa Todd, Nevada; one brother, Jack Hornback, Knoxville, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lecil, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Lee Hornback, Clyde Hornback, and Dickie Hornback.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, at the Church of the Nazarene, in Nevada, with Pastor Josh Griffith officiating. Private committal will follow at a later time in Park Cemetery, in Carthage, Mo. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church prior to the service.
