Lenna Lea Roggensees

Lenna Lea Roggensees, 57, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at her home in Nevada after a long battle with cancer. Lenna was born Jan. 8, 1959, in Chickasha, Okla., to Ronald and Anne (Bryant) Dawson. On July 16, 1994, she was married in Nevada to Bob Roggensees and he survives of the home.

Lenna grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1977. She then went on to college and graduated from Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo., in 1981 with a bachelor of music (MBE) and a degree in special education. Lenna taught for a number of years at the Heartland School in Nevada, did social work, and was the director of the Moss Pre-School for a time. She later worked for First Source Solutions in Fort Scott for more than 10 years, until her retirement due to disability.

Lenna served as choir director at the United Methodist Church. in Nevada. for six years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, going to craft fairs, crappie fishing and camping with Bob.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Bob, include, her sister, Stephanie Felten and husband, Leroy, of Fayette, Mo.; her brother, Greg Dawson and his wife, Amie, of Butler, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home, today.
