Leslie Waldo Haines Sr., 82, of Milo, Mo., died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, in Fort Scott, Kan. He was born Dec. 18, 1933, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Harry Waldo and Vera Isabelle (Woodman) Haines. He married Betty Jane Smith July 5, 1953, in Wichita, Kan., and she survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, Betty, Leslie is survived by his children, Tiena Jean Parsons and husband, Jim, of Andover, Kan., Doni Marie Thompson and husband, Mark, of Ely, Iowa, Leslie W. Haines Jr., of Wichita, Kan., Terry Ann Smith and husband, Kevin, also of Wichita, Kan., and Bradley Alan Haines and wife, Becca, of Valley Center, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Anna Marie Jones.

Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 18, at the Calvary Baptist Church, in Valley Center, Kan. The family requests that memorials be made to the Cancer Care Unit of Hope at Mercy Hospital, Fort Scott, Kan.
