Lady Tigers take third at home match

The Nevada Lady Tigers golf team placed third at its four-team home match Tuesday at Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course, with the teams playing the par-36 back nine. Nevada tallied a total team score of 209, as they were edged out for second-place by Purdy at 208. Butler took the crown, carding a team score of 202.

Purdy's Zoe Brown finished with the low individual score of 44. Stockton finished with a team score of 193. Stockton, however, only fielded three players, disqualifying its team score. Meanwhile, the Butler High School junior varsity team scored out at 255.

For Nevada, Grace Palmer and Lily Quitno shared low-score honors, each firing a 14-over par 50. Mandy Crews shot a 53, Kaitlynn Vincent, 56; Brooke Sargent, 57; and the Lady Tigers No. 5 golfer, Halley Otter, 56.

Webb City Tournament

The Lady Tigers returned to the course Thursday for the Webb City Invitational held at Joplin's Schifferdecker Golf Course, with the Lady Tigers tying for fifth with a score of 446 at the seven-team tournament.

Carl Junction came out on top with a score of 366, followed by Joplin, 382; Carthage 402; Seneca 415; Mt. Vernon, 446; Nevada, 446; and Webb City, 453.

Joplin's Anna Iorio finished with the tournament's low individual score of 7-over par 78. For the Lady Tigers, Quitno carded a 107 (51, 56); Crews, 111 (58, 63); Palmer, 112 (58, 54); Sargent, 116 (56, 60); and Vincent, 116 (60, 56).
