Helen Lou Land, 78, Nevada, departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Helen was born Sept. 9, 1938, in Humansville, Mo., to Clifford and Margie (Gump) Box. She was united in marriage to Charles T. Land on Aug. 17, 1956, in El Dorado Springs, and he survives of the home.

Helen grew up in El Dorado Springs, and Humansville. She attended Nevada High School one year with the class of 1956 and later graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Mo. She worked at both the Nevada Medical Clinic and Nevada Habilitation Center for more than 10 years each. Helen was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband Charles, survivors include three children, Cindy Burnett and her husband, Scott, Rogers, Ark., Mark Land and his wife, Jodie, Blue Springs, Mo., Greg Land and his wife, Traci, Katy, Texas; nine grandchildren, Christy, Nathan, Jessi, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Johnathan, Jason, Allison and Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Jemama; one brother, Clifford Box, St. Peters, Mo.; two sisters, Maxine Norton, Kansas City, Mo., and Dollie Harper, St. Charles, Mo.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Keller; and one brother, Monte Box.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Lawrence Cripps officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
