Lea Lillian McNeil, 88, Bronaugh, passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 25, at Medicalodges, of Nevada. Lea was born on June 16, 1929, at home on the Houston Farm on Sage Creek in Cody, Wyo., to George and Besse (Glynn) Wright. She married Thayne McNeil on Dec. 31, 1947, at her parent’s home in South Fork, Wyo., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2006.

Lea attended school at the Irma Flat School then Cody High School and was active in 4-H for many years. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator until her marriage to Thayne. They moved to the McNeil farm where they worked in the family business of farming, raising livestock and dairy on a farm overlooking the Buffalo Bill Reservoir. They moved to Bronaugh in 1966 where they continued the same businesses working the farm until retirement. Lea loved her family and visiting with friends. She enjoyed quilts and flowers and was an avid gardener.

Survivors include her children, William McNeil, and his wife, Pam, Thaylee Rourk, and her husband, Russell, and Carey McNeil, and his wife, Diane, all of Bronaugh; grandchildren, Matt Layher and his wife, Lori; Ashley Banes and her husband, Brent; Elise McNeil, Willie L. McNeil, Jesse Jenkins, Tucker Connelly and Payton McNeil; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Thayne, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Kay Zimmer officiating. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
