Rodger Lynn Culbertson

Rodger Lynn Culbertson, 63, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, at his home in El Dorado Springs. Rodger was born on June 10, 1954, in Nevada to Delmer Lee and Bonnie Lou (Hacker) Culbertson.

Rodger graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1972. He worked for Sac-Osage Electrical Cooperative for 42 years, retiring in January 2017. He was an outdoor person and enjoyed country living. He raised cattle and liked to hunt, fish and play golf. Rodger loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren and was involved with their activities. He will be remembered as one who deeply cared about others and helping people especially family and good friends.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Scott Culbertson, Daytona Beach, Fla.; daughter, Jamie Lynne Hilbers (Brian), Peculiar, Mo.; grandchildren, Shayla, Makenna and Dayne, Peculiar; brother, Rick Culbertson (Diane), Nevada; step-father, Clifford McDaniel, El Dorado Springs; step-brother, Mike McDaniel, Buffalo, Mo.; and nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ron Culbertson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Walker. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
