Robert (Bob) Millard Robertson

Robert (Bob) Millard Robertson, age 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Joplin Health and Rehab Center.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wilma Maxine Robertson; his son, Randy Robertson and wife, Nancy; daughter-in-law, Barbara Robertson; four grandchildren, Brett Robertson and wife, Rachel, Blake Robertson and wife, Janna, Brooke Robertson Knepper and husband, Matt, and Briana Robertson; three great grandchildren, Tyne Robertson, Niya Robertson, Natalie Robertson and soon to arrive baby Knepper. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Rob Robertson; a brother, J. Arthur Robertson, Jr.; a sister, Katherine Lenore Robertson Howard Young; and his parents.

Born Nov. 10, 1926 in Corder, Mo., the son of the Rev. Jeter Arthur Robertson and Mary Katherine (Harmon) Robertson. In his early years, Bob attended Roundtop first through eighth grade. After graduating from Warrensburg High School in 1943, he farmed with Wilbur Scrutchfield for a period of time. In 1946, he joined the U.S. Army, where he was Military Police, rank of Master Sergeant.

He met his wife, Maxine Rinehart, and they were married in 1948, in Nevada. After serving in the military, Bob returned home and worked as a mechanic, but had the opportunity to join the Kansas City Police Force, which he did. In 1959, he returned to farming in Vernon County.

Bob was a member, deacon, elder and Sunday School Superintendent in the Rinehart Christian Church for many years, until health problems kept him from attending.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Sept. 16, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, under the direction of the Heuser Funeral Home.
