Nicholas Austin Rider

Nicholas Austin Rider, 13, Bronaugh, passed from this life on Monday, Oct. 23. Nicholas was born April 24, 2004, in Joplin, to Rick Shane Rider and Laura Margaret Patricia (Grady) Rider.

Nicholas grew up in rural Vernon county and attended school in Bronaugh where he was an eighth grade student. Nicholas liked sports and played both baseball and basketball. Having grown up in the country, he also enjoyed spending as much time as possible outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Laura Rider, of the home; father, Rick Rider, Bronaugh; one sister, Katheryn Rider; two brothers, Christopher Rider and Samuel Rider, all of the home; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Grady; Prairie Village, Kan.; aunts, uncles, many cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Lloyd Grady; and paternal grandparents, O.C. Rider and Wilda Rider.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at Hannon Freewill Baptist in Liberal, Mo. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., on Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
