It was a clean sweep for Nevada High School head basketball coaches, as both Brent Bartlett and Shaun Gray nabbed West Central Conference Coach of the Year accolades.

Lady Tigers

It was a milestone season for Lady Tiger head coach Bartlett who, in his 20th season with Nevada, and 23rd overall, reached career victory No. 400. It’s the second time Bartlett has been named WCC coach of the year in the past three seasons, having previously netted the award in 2015.

Bartlett guided the Lady Tigers to 18 victories, the program’s first district championship since 2008, and a berth in the Missouri Class 4 state tournament.

Meanwhile Gray, the Nevada boys fourth-year head coach, led the Tigers to their second consecutive 20-plus win season, and back-to-back district championship game appearances. The Tigers concluded the 2017-18 season with a 21-5 record, while claiming their first WCC championship.

In addition to Bartlett’s postseason recognition, a trio of Lady Tigers were selected to the All-West Central Conference first team. Sophomore guards Calli Beshore and Payge Dahmer, and freshman point guard Alison Bower were named to the first team, while sophomore forward Teagan Charles garnered WCC honorable mention accolades.
