Connie Jo Phillips, 57, Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 9, in Lincoln, Mo. Connie was born Feb. 22, 1961, in Nevada, to Donald Wilburn and Betty Louise (Ball) Stukesbary. On Sept. 3, 1982, she was united in marriage to David Phillips at the Berea Christian Church near Walker and he survives of the home.

Connie was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1979. She worked at Nevada State Hospital for 33 years until retiring in 2011. Connie was baptized by her grandfather Dewey Stukesbary, in the Reformed Latter Day Saints Church in Nevada. She enjoyed many things including gatherings with her family and friends and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Connie was known for her baking, especially the birthday cakes she made for her family, and for her beautiful smile.

In addition to her husband David, survivors include three daughters, Casey Landreth and her husband Bradley, Nevada, Lacey Brown and her husband Michael, Lincoln, Mo., and Kara Phillips and fiancé William Plunkett Jr., Butler; six grandchildren, Dakota Landreth, Justin Landreth, Savannah Landreth, Haley Landreth, Curtis Lopez, and Harley Brown; four sisters, Marsha Harper and her husband Marvin, Nevada, Pam Trower and her husband Rick, Ozark, Mo., Karen Short and her husband Greg, Nevada, and Chris Stukesbary, Nevada; two brothers, Gary Stukesbary, Nevada, and Dewey Stukesbary, Carthage; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one step-son, Johnny Phillips; two granddaughters, Jenna Phillips and Alexis Landreth; and one grandson, Lucas Plunkett.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 6 p.m. at the family home in Compton Junction.
