Gary Dean Majors

Gary Dean Majors, 49, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at his home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Gary was born March 20, 1969, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Clifford Eugene and Lavona Mae (Davis) Majors. He was united in marriage to Lori Ann Robinson on Dec. 2, 1988, in Schell City, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Gary was raised in Schell City and graduated from Schell City High School Class of 1987. He worked all of his life as an Auto Technician. Gary worked at Frank McDaniels Auto Mall and later Nevada Auto Mall in Nevada. In 2009, he became part owner of Gary and Len’s Truck and Auto Repair in Nevada until leaving the business in 2014 due to illness. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf, but most of all he loved being with his family.

In addition to his wife, Lori, survivors include two sons, Cody Majors and Blake Majors, both of the home; one granddaughter, Cerenity Majors; siblings, Sharon Sanderson and her husband, Roger, Schell City, Linda Highfill, Schell City, Doug Majors and his wife, Jody, Stockton, Mo., Bob Majors and his wife, Linda, Walker, Jodi Harper, Windsor, Mo., and Bill Majors and his wife, Betty, El Dorado Springs; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Linda Robinson, Bellamy, Mo.; brother-in-law, Mike Robinson, Bellamy; sister-in-law, Shyla Delp and her husband, Darren, Austin, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two nephews, Rodney Sanderson and Matthew Highfill; brother-in-law, Tom Highfill; and great-nephew, Conner Highfill.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Nevada with Pastor Bill Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested in his memory to Vernon County Cancer Relief or a Memorial Scholarship in Gary’s memory in care of NHS Scholarship Fund.
