R. Norman Beeman

R. Norman Beeman, 90, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center in Nevada. Norman was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Morgan County, Mo., to Ralph and Esther (Stroud) Beeman. He was united in marriage to Betty Craig on June 14, 1947, in Girard, Kan. Betty preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 2016.

Norman attended school in Walker and graduated from Walker High School Class of 1947. Following high school Norman enlisted in the Army. After his mother’s death he came home and farmed with his dad. Later Norman went to work for the Katy Railroad for 10 years. He loved to farm and enjoyed fishing. Norman belonged to the First Baptist Church. Betty and Norman loved to travel and especially loved spending the winters in Florida fishing. They took a group of kids to Guatemala on a missionary trip and spent several years doing missionary work in various parts of the United States. Norman loved spending time with family.

Norman is survived by his children, Claudia Martindale and her husband, Rick, Springs Branch, Texas, Mike Beeman and his wife, Susan, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Josh, Annie, Cassie, Amy, John, Jeremy, and Joseph; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Millie Johnson, Lees Summit. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Craig Beeman; sisters, Pauline, Gladys, Loree and Lucile; and one daughter-in-law, Jan Beeman.
