Arnold "Baxter" Campbell

Arnold "Baxter" Campbell, 88, of Casa Grande, Phoenix and Hereford, Ariz., died Sept. 11, 2019, at Peppi's House - TMC Hospice in Tucson, Ariz. He was born Sept.21, 1930, in Moundville, Mo., to Howard and Gladys Campbell. He lived in Moundville until he finished high school. He enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, Calif., where he met and married his beautiful wife Dorothy who was also in the Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy and grandson, Scott. He is survived by his children, Linda Campbell, Steven Campbell (Brenda), Michael Campbell (Kathy) and Richard Campbell (Nicole); 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Arnold (Bax) started Campbell’s Granite Surface Plate Service in 1975 and continued working until he was 79-years-old when his son Mike took the business over. His customers still talk about what a great guy he was and how they appreciated his honesty and integrity.

Visitation will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery and Funeral Home, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. A visitation and sharing of memories will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery and Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 16, from 9 to 11a.m., with a Scripture Service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ, at 2 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 16.
