Virgil Edward Flagor, 76, of Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at Nevada Regional Medical Center.

Virgil was born April 8, 1944, in Pasco, Wash., to Reuben and Sarah (Lolley) Flagor. The family moved to a farm at Walker, Mo., when he was five. Virgil graduated from Walker High School in 1962. Growing up he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming.

On Feb. 12, 1965, Virgil married the love of his life, Zetta Mae Harleman. They had a daughter, Doris Rosemary. They spent 56 years having many adventures.

Virgil was known to be able to fix almost anything. He was a hard worker. He began working for the Nevada Hatchery, then the Rich Hill Rendering plant, then Dahmer Electric, and from there he went to the Nevada State Hospital where he worked until retiring. He finished with a few years with Skills Unlimited.

Virgil was the rock of our family, always steady, strong, and true. His word and handshake were as good as gold. He loved spending time with his family. He loved duck hunting and his dogs. Virgil spent his spare time working on old tractors, his old truck, and his bees.

He is survived by his wife, Zetta; daughter, Doris (Steve) Jolly, of Hughesville, Mo.; granddaughters, Kelsey Cox, of Sedalia, Mo., and Alexis Jolly of the home; brother, Don (Jean) Flagor, Nevada, Mo.; sister, Cynthia of California; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Flagor, of Richland, Wash., and Wanda Shrimplin of Nevada, Mo.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Robert Flagor; and an infant grandson, Scott Edward Jolly.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, at High Point Cemetery, in Hughesville, Mo. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Those in attendance will be asked to maintain social distancing and are asked to wear face masks to protect themselves and others.
