Applegate hops up to fourth on Tigers' career scoring list
Number four is now No. 4.
Nevada High School senior guard Logan Applegate, who sports the number four on his basketball jersey, climbed up one spot on the school's all-time scoring list after his 36-point performance Monday night against McDonald County.
Applegate came into senior night as the fifth highest scorer in Tigers history, but after draining 10 3-pointers (tied for the school record along with Drew Clark and Chris Smith), the 6-foot-2 sharp-shooter passed 1989 grad John Kirch for fourth place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,430 points.
The next closest player in Applegates' sights is Chadd Jones, who graduated in 1996 having scored 1,695 points. Smith, who graduated in 1991, is No. 2 with 1,741 points — while Clay Gayman (class of 2018) rests comfortably at the top of the leaderboard with 1,976 career points.
Kirch now rounds out the top five with 1,415 points.
