After beating Butler and Skyline, the Nevada Tigers JV Basketball team battled it out against Fort Scott for the Championship of the El Dorado JV Tournament. Unfortunately, with a couple of players out due to Covid, and some of the regular starters for the JV team in Frontenac for the Varsity tournament, Nevada would end up losing the Tiger versus Tiger matchup championship game 33-25.

Nevada’s top scorers were #13 Gabe Smith with nine points in the ball game, then #21 Kellan Ast, #30 Caden Klumpp, and #41 Jordan Boyd all tied for four points for the scoreboard, and the #12 Ude Mba as well as #24 Dalton McIntire tied for two points. For the Fort Scott Tigers, they had #13 Kristian Paronto, #30 Dub Chipman, and #33 Ty Marbery all tying it up for nine points, then #23 Colton Rogers made four for the Tigers, and then #14 Brady Messer made two points as well.

"This was a good tournament for us." said Head Coach for the Nevada JV Team Kyle Talley. "It's very well run by the staff at El Dorado. We love going to it. This group had won 7 games in a row before tonight and has really started to figure out how to win games. It's a great group of young men." The next time the Nevada JV Tigers will play will be January 27th, against the Carthage Tigers in Carthage, Mo.,at 6 p.m.
